Clearly Sweet

Have you seen the new challenge in the Starving Artistamps group at Paper Craft Planet? The challenge is to make a clear card--and there's a prize up for grabs, too. These are so much fun to make and look so cool—but they’re so hard to photograph well!

I created a simple holiday card for the challenge using a piece of acetate as the base and images from the DoodleFactory Santa’s Sweet Shoppe set. I stamped the large lollipop image on white cardstock, then colored it with Copic markers. I added a light coating of Angel Wings Shimmerz paint to make it look really sugary sweet! The lollipop is layered on a red panel, stamped with the polka dot background stamp. I matted the panel with black, then with a silver scalloped panel so it would stand out. There’s another red panel, hidden inside, so that the card can be signed.

I stamped the holiday sentiment in the bottom right corner of the card using StazOn ink. I randomly stamped white snowflakes (in StazOn, too) on the rest of the acetate. After they dried a bit, I added some Diamond Stickles to the snowflake centers for some extra sparkle.

If you decide to give the challenge a try, be sure to post a reply to the challenge thread in the SA Paper Craft Planet group with a link to your card. The challenge will run through December 30, so you have a little while to get it done.

Materials Used:
DoodleFactory Santa’s Sweet Shoppe set, polka dot background (Starving Artistamps); White and Blazing Red inks (StazOn); rectangle and scalloped rectangle dies (Nestabilities); white cardstock (Xerox); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic Ciao); Real Red Classic ink, Real Red and Basic Black cardstock, dimensionals (Stampin’ Up!); pearl Dew Drops (Kitchen Sink Stamps); Angel Wings Shimmerz (I {heart} papers); Diamond Stickles (Ranger); silver ribbon (Michaels); silver paper (Target)
