Kitchen Sink Stamps Monday: Alter It!

It’s time for another installment of Kitchen Sink Stamps Monday. This week features our very first challenge from a customer, Emilia. She received this honor as part of being one of the winners in the What's Cook'n With Your Kitchen Sink Stamps? contest on the Kitchen Sink Stamps blog. Emilia challenged us to create a gift item with the following requirements: alter a tin, box, or bag, using any inks or embellishments you choose, but NO patterned paper (that’s right, no!), and you must use ribbon.

So, with these requirements in mind, I made a decorated nugget tin. The tin came from i {heart} papers. The Hershey's Nuggets inside the tin are wrapped in adhesive labels stamped with two of the different sized flower images from Happy Birthday Cupcake using bold red and yellow inks.

To decorate the tin's outside, I created a belly band. I used my scallop edge punch to create a scalloped border on both sides of the band. Then, I randomly stamped the flower images to match the colors on the nuggets. This was a perfect way to get around the patterned paper limitation!

I slid the belly band on the tin and tied a strip of coordinating red satin ribbon around the tin. I stamped a tag with the "just for you" sentiment from Ready 4 Any Holiday and some of the flower images then attached the tag to the ribbon with a piece of silver cord.

Materials Used:
Happy Birthday Cupcake and Ready 4 Any Holiday stamp sets (Kitchen Sink Stamps); Real Red and Whisper White cardstock, silver cord, scallop edge punch, small and large tag punches (Stampin’ Up!); hinged tin (i {heart} papers); Pure Poppy and Lemon Tart Palette inks (Papertrey Ink); red satin ribbon (Michaels); Avery adhesive labels, Hershey’s Nuggets

And, here's another Kitchen Sink goodie, this one for today's challenge at Paper Craft Planet. Today is day 11 of the Twelve Days of Christmas challenge. The theme for today is music to go with "11 pipers piping." I used the 3 Step Bells set to make my music themed card.

I used Tammy's recipe for stamping the bells with just a little modification. I stamped in More Mustard, stamped off once, for the first step, then followed with More Mustard (full strength!), Gold Galaxy (from Brilliance), Creamy Caramel, and Close to Cocoa. The sentiment is stamped in Real Red. That was done so I could use the red satin ribbon scrap on my table to embellish the bells! I layered the bells on a piece of Kiwi Kiss cardstock, then on a shimmery gold panel.

I created a coordinating panel for the bells from a piece of Yuletide paper from SEI's Alpine Frost paper collection from i {heart} papers. I love how shimmery this stuff is--it looks fabulous with the shimmery bells! I added a bunch of pearly Dew Drops along the left side of the paper to complete the card.
