Lots of Gold Rings
Here's my card for day 5 of the Paper Craft Planet 12 Days of Christmas event. The theme for the day is circles and/or rings (for 5 golden rings, of course!). If you upload a card for today's challenge, be sure to use 12day5 as your keyword so you'll be entered to win a prize from today's sponsor--none other than i {heart} papers.
I found the most perfect paper from IHP to use for the challenge. This SEI paper (Rochester from the Windsor line) is covered in a pattern with gold rings. I used both sides of the paper to create the patterned paper panel on the cardfront. There's a strip of yummy double stitched cream velvet ribbon to hide where the two patterns meet. This ribbon is thick, so it's hard for me to tie it into a nice bow. Instead I made a faux bow to decorate the panel. The patterned paper panel is layered on a shimmery gold panel, then attached to the cardfront.
I stamped the deer image from the Hero Arts Jolly Christmas set on a piece of white paper and colored it with Copic markers. I used some sparkly platinum Stickles to embellish the scarf (how do I not have Gold Stickles??). The "season's greetings" sentiment is stamped in gold ink to match the gold scalloped circle I layered the image panel on. I love how this turned out!
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers-Hero Arts Jolly Christmas stamp set, SEI Windsor Rochester paper, cream velvet double stitched ribbon, circle and scalloped circle Nestabilities dies, Platinum Stickles
other-Sahara Sand cardstock, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); Gold Galaxy ink (Brilliance); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); white cardstock (Xerox); markers (Copic Ciao); gold paper (Target)
