Sketches {by Tamara}: Recipe 32
Here's my card for this week's recipe challenge at Sketches {by Tamara}. This week's required elements were lined paper (either notebook paper or scrapbook paper), paint or ink, and journaling. I got two out of the three here and kind of improvised on the third--not bad!
I made a quick and simple square card for the challenge. I had a scrap of notebook-looking scrapbook paper already out on my desk, so I cut a piece of that to size, then used a spiral edge punch to make holes in the side, like it was torn straight from a notebook. This was attached to the red card base on an angle.
I used my new heart Nestabilities dies to cut out a pink heart for the cardfront. I stamped the "i heart" box in black ink at the center of the heart. I filled in the blank lines with a red "u," then surrounded the u with a pair of punched out red brackets. I couldn't figure out how to incorporate journaling into a card, at least in the traditional sense, so I tried to add something that might be close . . .
Materials Used:
Sweet on You and Contempo Alphabet sets, Real Red and Basic Black Classic inks, Real Red and Pretty in Pink cardstock, spiral edge punch, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); Pure Poppy Swiss Dot satin ribbon (Papertrey Ink); bracket punch (EK Success); Dew Drops (Kitchen Sink Stamps); notebook patterned paper (Me & My Big Ideas Alison paper pad); heart die (Nestabilities)
