Blue Retro Birdie
Here's my card for this week's sketch challenge at Paper Craft Planet. Kim is hosting this week and has shared a fun sketch for us.
I pulled out some new SU! chipboard for my card. I used one of the bird pieces from the On Board So Tweet package as the focal image on my card. The bird is covered with Ballet Blue craft ink. I added a rhinestone brad to make a twinkly eye. Love how that turned out!
The colors for my card were taken from the retro-inspired colors and patterns of the Good Morning Sunshine paper pack. I used a piece of really bright (maybe too bright?) Summer Sun dotted paper to cover the cardfront and added some coordinating panels to the cardfront. Since the colors and patterns are busy, I didn't use a lot of extra embellishments.
I used a sentiment from A Little Birdie Told Me in the bottom right corner of the card. I stamped it in craft ink for an opaque look to finish the card.
Materials Used (all from Stampin' Up!):
A Little Birdie Told Me stamp set, Ballet Blue Craft ink, Ballet Blue, Kiwi Kiss, and Chocolate Chip cardstock, Good Morning Sunshine designer series paper, On Board So Tweet chipboard, silver brads, yellow rhinestone brad, scallop edge punch, mat pack and paper piercing tool, white gel pen, dimensionals
