Have a Hybrid Valentine's Day

There's something new for you on Paper Craft Planet. Two of our design team Supernovas, Susanna Boyd and Jen Tapler, have created a fabulous Valentine's Day themed hybrid kit.

What's a hybrid kit, you might ask? Hybrid basically means that a project incorporates both your computer and traditional paper crafting. The kit is a file that you download to your computer, print, cut and assemble using the directions included with the kit. This kit includes directions for 4 cute cards and some other fun goodies too (they're perfect for kids to give to classmates!). The file is a PDF document that opens in Adobe Reader, so you don't need any special software or skills to use it--just open and print from your color printer on high-quality white cardstock and you're ready to go.

One of the best things about this kit is you'll never run out of supplies. Once you've purchased the kit, you can print and reprint the kit's elements as much as you want (or until your printer runs out of ink--LOL!). You can add supplies from your own crafting stash if you want to "personalize" the projects, too.

Here are some of the projects featured in the kit. This photo shows two of the cards in the kit. The red card follows the kit directions exactly and took all of 3 minutes to assemble--just fold the printed card, cut the heart embellishments out and stick them on with dimensionals.

The love bird card took only a minute or two longer since I added an embellishment from my own collection. On this one, I added a strip of pink ribbon with red dots to the cardfront, attaching it with a staple on each side.

I really like this one! The front of the card is just a bit narrower than the back of the card, revealing a pretty striped paper pattern. I used the sentiment circle and arrow from the kit here and added my own red felt flower with a black brad at the center.

I'll share some of the kit's non-card projects later on this week. In the meantime, if you want to give the kit a try, you can purchase it here for $5.
