Starving Artistamps Blog Hop: Making a Scene

Starving Artistamps is releasing some fabulous new goodies today. Since the images in this release are something that’s different than our usual stamp fare, the team is introducing the new release in a special way. We’re having our very first blog hop today to show off four brand-new DoodleFactory background scenes—perfect for bringing your favorite DoodleFactory images to life. How fun is that? There’s a tropical one, a rooftop one, a jungle one, and a countryside one. These stamps are big! Each one covers almost a full card front.

Let's start off in the jungle. I paired the wild background with Malbec from the DoodleFactory Valentine Remix set. He's having a great time, swinging from the jungle vines. The background and Malbec are colored with Copic markers. I used a sponge to fill in the sky area. It's hard to see in the photo, but I added some Glaze pen detailing to the snake image and Malbec. It adds a slight shiny, glossy look to the areas that were colored.

I added a banner inspired sentiment to match the scene. The sentiment is accented with a red heart-shaped button.

Now let's move on to the country. This background is a perfect match for images from the DoodleFactory Country sets.

The scene is colored with Copic markers in bold colors. I ended up using parts of two stamped image panels here so I could add some dimension to the scene. The clouds and mountain tops are covered with Fun Flock for a powdery, puffy effect.

I added in the chick image from the Country set, set inside the truck image. I did a little bit of masking to get the images placed just so. I added in a speech bubble from the DoodleDads set for my “Hey, chick!” sentiment.

And, finally, let's visit the tropics. What a fabulous looking scene--wish I was there right now! I colored the image with Copic markers. I stamped the image a second time and colored some parts, then cut them out. I attached those to the original scene with some dimensionals.

I added some fun, sparkly details to this scene. I coated the sun with some Angel Wings Shimmerz for a tropical glow and added some glitter to the water.

Moki fit perfectly into this scene. She's gotten a little too much sun, though, and is just a bit sunburned--LOL! I made her extra-sparkly, too, adding some glitter to her skirt, rhinestones to her flower lei, and painting her with Shimmerz, too, before setting her in the scene using dimensionals.

Your next stop on this scenic trip will be Lydia's blog. You'll want to visit all of the participating blogs—someone along the way has a blog candy treat for you . . .
