Blogger Challenge: Week 92

This week's challenge was to use either templates or die cuts as part of your project. I turned to a sheet of trendy butterfly die cuts to make this card.

Kate from i {heart} papers has a "Five Minute Friday" feature on her blog every week and as I was making this card, I realized that it fits in that category nicely. The simple layout and use of a die cut helped this card to come together in no time at all.

I combined a pretty paper butterfly from an Amy Butler die cut sheet with a subtly patterned paper from Upsy Daisy. I stamped the "enjoy every moment" sentiment from the Hero Arts Thoughtful Messages stamp set in blue ink on the patterned paper.

I cut a pair of circles to coordinate with the die cut butterfly and layered the stamped image panel over those. I attached the butterfly with a dimensional and added a trio of tiny pearls to its body. After arranging everything on the card, I added a dot of Silver Pearl Liquid Pearls to each of the scallops on the scalloped circle. And, I even managed to not smear the wet stuff or drop the card face-down on the table before it dried--a big achievement for me!
