Monochromatic Hogs and Kisses

I managed to incorporate two challenges in one card here. This one's for today's SCS featured stamper challenge and for the current (or just over--I may be too late!) paper piecing challenge in the Starving Artistamps group on Paper Craft Planet.

I based my card on this one. I really liked the layout--clean and simple. I wanted to use my DoodleFactory deer image, but it seems that I've temporarily misplaced it . . . Instead of spending my time finding the missing deer, I went ahead and replaced it with the cute image from the Valentine Remix set. I used a scrap of Rose Red Patterns Series designer paper to fill in the pig and some Regal Rose scraps for the hearts and the bow on the piggy's tail. I couldn't resist adding a rhinestone to the bow!

I layered the paper pieced pig on a pair of scalloped oval mats. I really like the look of the double layered mats here. I embossed a pink panel with the Swiss Dot embossing folder to match the dotted pattern on the pig and wrapped a piece of Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon around it before placing it on a Rose Red card base. I attached the "hogs and kisses" sentiment over the ribbon with dimensionals.

If you're a DoodleFactory fan, be sure to stop by the Starving Artistamps blog to take a look at the newest DF images and for a chance to win the new set. It has bunnies in it--my favorite! Don't forget you can save 10% on all StarvingArtistamps and DoodleFactory Stamps by using the code savetenlt when you order from Starving Artistamps.

Materials Used:
DoodleFactory Valentine Remix and Fresh and Funky Farm sentiment (Starving Artistamps); Rose Red and Basic Black Classic inks, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, and Regal Rose cardstock, Rose Red Prints Series designer paper, Regal Rose 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, mat pack and paper piercing tool, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); Swiss Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug); self-adhesive rhinestone (Michaels); classic oval and scalloped oval dies (Nestabilities); Cotton Candy Stickles (Ranger)
