Kitchen Sink Monday: Monochromatic Pop

It's time for another Kitchen Sink Stamps Monday. This week, we have a challenge from guest hostess Makiko. Her challenge was to create a card or project using a monochromatic color scheme and to include an element that's raised with dimensionals so it "pops."

Here's my monochromatic beauty using the Hibiscus stamp set. I stamped the flower on a pale pink cardstock using layers of pink and red inks, then cut out around the stamped image. It's covered it with a light coating of Angel Wings Shimmerz paint for a soft shimmer.

In keeping with the monochromatic theme of the challenge, I resisted adding a leaf to the flower. Instead I kind of went back to our last Crew challenge and layered the stamped image on a pale pink panel with a dimensional. I added one of the sentiments from the set in the lower portion of the panel.

I used a piece of elegant patterned paper from SU!'s Raspberry Tart designer paper pack for the large panel on the cardfront. I wrapped a piece of pale pink satin ribbon around the panel and embellished it with a pair of coordinating pink buttons.

You're welcome to join us and play along with the challenge. Check out the Kitchen Sink Stamps blog for more info. And, for more monochromatic inspiration, you can visit the rest of the Kitchen Sink Crew. You can find them here:
