Spring Saturday Shoebox Swap
I’m on my way to another shoebox swap this morning. Here’s the all Stampin’ Up! card I designed to bring for the swap (with along with my "homemade" blueberry bread, of course!).
I wanted to use a set from the Occasions mini catalog, so I decided on Great Friend. Since there are 25 people attending the swap, I knew my card needed to be pretty simple—there are a lot of cards to make and not so much time! I used a simple layout incorporating both designer paper and punches to come up with this spring-like pretty.
I used a strip of subtly patterned paper from the Candy Lane designer paper pack on the cardfront. A coordinating strip of Pink Pirouette cardstock punched with the eyelet border punch is on the bottom edge of the cardstock to help it stand out a bit.
The delicate butterfly image is stamped twice using Pretty in Pink ink, once on a circle cutout, then again on a scrap of Pink Pirouette. The butterfly on the scrap piece is cut out and layered over the butterfly on the circle, attached only at the center so the wings can be bent up to add dimension to the card. This circle is layered on a slightly larger Kiwi Kiss circle before it’s attached to the card.
I’m so proud of myself for having this card designed and prepared on Tuesday evening. Usually I’m up late on Friday nights before these events, cutting and bagging my supplies while waiting for my blueberry bread to finish up in the oven—LOL!
Materials Used (all from Stampin’ Up!);
Great Friend stamp set, Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa Classic inks, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, and Baja Breeze cardstock, Candy Lane designer paper, white grosgrain ribbon, eyelet border punch, dimensionals
