This week's
Unity Addicts challenge comes from
Kim. Her challenge was to make anything but a card. I went with a fun cork memo board using some Unity stamps as decoration.
I started with a 6"x9" piece of cork I got in a package of 2 at Dollar Tree. I cut a piece 8 1/2" by 11" of cardstock slightly wider than the cork. I used my ScorPal to create score lines to make a flap to cover the top of the cork piece. I stamped the Retro Border at the top of the paper using turquoise ink for a tone on tone look. I added a narrow scalloped pink border just beneath the stamped image for a little pop of color.
I stamped the "just a little reminder" sentiment from the December kit of the month in turquoise ink on a white strip of cardstock, then layered that on a slightly wider and longer turquoise strip. I left extra room on the right side of the panel so I could fold it and tuck it under the board so it would stay securely. I used a pink felt flower that matched the scalloped border as a simple embellishment. I might use a few more tiny felt flowers to decorate some thumbtacks to use on the board . . .
Once the sentiment panel was in place, I adhered the paper panel to the cork. I used my Crop a Dile to set a pair of jumbo eyelets at the top of the cork piece. I threaded a length of pink ribbon through the eyelets so that the board can be hung up for use.
