Blogger Challenge: Week 104
This week’s blogger challenge theme is manly cards. Even though Father’s Day is this weekend, I decided to go with a non-Father’s Day themed card. Instead, I created a masculine thank you card, something I don’t really have enough of in my stash.
I used the SU! Totally Tool set for the focal image. This is a great set for masculine cards! I stamped the wrench image on a scrap of Basic Gray cardstock and carefully cut it out, then layered it on a cream circle.
I kept my layout clean and uncluttered. I used some grid patterned paper from the current hostess paper pack for one panel on my cardfront and accented it with a paper pierced and distressed strip of Night of Navy cardstock along one side. I layered a Night of Navy panel over this, then attached the circle with the wrench. To keep it masculine, the only embellishments I added were a pair of silver brads. The sentiment fit nicely in the lower right corner of the card.
For more masculine card ideas, you can visit the rest of the challenge players. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right.
Materials Used (all from Stampin’ Up!):
Totally Tool stamp set, Basic Black Classic ink, Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Basic Gray, and Very Vanilla cardstock, Basic Gray Patterns Pack II designer series paper, 1 ¾” circle punch, mat pack and paper piercing tool, distressing tool, silver brads
