Since I first saw the new SU! Animal Stories set (one of the sneak peek sets available to demos prior to the release of the new catalog), I thought it would be fun to combine the owl image with the branch from Cheep Talk, so that’s exactly what I did here. The owl is stamped in More Mustard ink and sits on a Really Rust branch. The thanks sentiment is stamped in gray ink.
I used the Hero Arts woodgrain background stamp over the gray cardfront. I thought the woodgrain pattern was a nice match for the owl and branch image. Since I didn’t want to cover too much of the cool woodgrain pattern, I kept the rest of my layout simple. I added a panel of More Mustard designer paper behind the stamped image panel. A button-embellished bow fit nicely in the empty top corner of the image panel. I paper pierced around the lower right corner of the image panel to complete the card.
Materials Used:
Cheep Talk and Animal Stories stamp sets, Really Rust, More Mustard, and Basic Gray Classic inks, Really Rust, More Mustard, Basic Gray, and Very Vanilla cardstock, More Mustard Patterns designer series paper, mat pack and paper piercing tool (Stampin’ Up!); Woodgrain background stamp (Hero Arts); Summer Sunrise button, twine (Papertrey Ink); gray grosgrain ribbon (Michaels)
oohhh.. I like this... very funky indeed.
