Color Throwdown with Clear and Simple Stamps

Clear & Simple Stamps is sponsoring this week’s Color Throwdown challenge, so I thought I’d give this week’s color combination a try. This week’s challenge colors—celery, plum, and chocolate chip—made me think of florals, so I pulled out my Live Life set for my creation.

For a very soft look, I stamped the set’s floral image in Versamark, then dotted on some plum and celery shimmery chalks. So pretty!

I used a piece of My Mind’s Eye patterned paper with a similar leafy pattern in a celery shade to cover most of the plum cardfront. I added an elegant embossed strip, bordered with a Chocolate Chip scalloped edge to the cardfront. I dotted a tiny bit of of Silver Pearl Liquid Pearls on each of the scallops. I layered the chalked image on to the card and added a button-embellished ribbon tab to one side.

I stamped the "enjoy the simple things in life" sentiment on a scrap of celery cardstock. The sentiment fit perfectly inside one of my oval punches--and at the bottom of the image panel, too.

Materials Used:
Live Life stamp set (Clear & Simple Stamps); Plum Pudding Palette ink, Plum Pudding cardstock, Plum Pudding grosgrain ribbon (Papertrey Ink); Versamark, Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery cardstock, oval punch, scallop edge punch, Finial Press embossing folder, dimensionals (Stampin’ Up!); pearlescent chalks (Pebbles); designer paper (My Mind’s Eye); Silver Pearl Liquid Pearls (Ranger)
