Scarlet Thanks
***If you're here for Kitchen Sink Monday, scroll down to the post below.***
Here’s my card for Dawn’s latest color challenge. I thought these colors were a tricky combination, but I think I got them to work.
I ended up using a clean and simple design to incorporate all of the colors. I stamped one of the images from Papertrey Ink’s Shapes by Design on a piece of Raspberry Fizz repeatedly in matching ink to create a patterned paper panel. I really like the kind of retro, graphic look of this pattern. I added a strip of celery cardstock, punched with the Fiskars Apron Lace border punch, across the stamped panel. A piece of Scarlet Jewel ribbon runs along the top of the celery piece.
I used the line formed by the ribbon as a baseline for my sentiment. The long thank you sentiment from Around & About Sentiments is stamped in Cranberry Crisp ink. I forgot to add the Scarlet Jewel ink to my PTI order last month, so this worked okay as a substitute (my Scarlet Jewel ink should arrive soon . . .). I layered the panel on a Scarlet Jewel card base to complete the card.
Materials Used:
Shapes by Design and Around & About Sentiments stamp sets, Raspberry Fizz Palette ink, Raspberry Fizz and Scarlet Jewel cardstock, Scarlet Jewel grosgrain ribbon, Scarlet Jewel button, twine (Papertrey Ink); Cranberry Crisp Classic ink, Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Apron Lace border punch (Fiskars)
