I turned my card into a shaker card using images from the one of the latest Chicken Girl Designs stamp sets from i {heart} papers. This set is called It’s a Snow Day! It will be available on October 16 along with another wintery-themed set. For this card I paired the cute penguin image with some designer papers from the My Mind’s Eye Colorful Christmas line.
This is probably the quickest and easiest shaker card I’ve ever made. It was helped along by the new circle-shaped Shake It pouch that covers my stamped image and contains my “snow,” also known as Polar White Flower Soft. The Shake It pouch is a clear circle with an adhesive backing. To make the shaker panel, you place your shaker material on your finished image, remove the covering from the adhesive backing along the rim of the Shake It pouch, center the pouch over your image, and secure the rim to the image. The pouches are sized to work with Nestabilities dies, so it’s easy to make a frame to cover the edges of the rim on the finished card. Here, I cut a turquoise scalloped frame, accented with some Platinum Liquid Pearls.
