Celebrate the Season in Aqua and Red
Here's my card for today's SCS sketch challenge. I'm not wild about how my card turned out but I thought I'd share it anyway. . .
I used a trio of snowflake images from Papertrey Ink's Rustic Snowflakes set for the spray of snowflakes along the edge of the image panel. They're stamped in PTI's Aqua Mist ink--love the new pigment versions! I added tiny rhinestones to the snowflake centers for a little sparkle. The "celebrate the season" sentiment from PTI's Holiday Tree set is stamped in red ink so it will stand out. A tiny piece of knotted Aqua Mist satin ribbon is attached at the end of the sentiment as an accent.
I used a snowflake embossing folder to emboss the red strips underneath the image panel. Maybe I would have been happier with the card if I'd matted these with kraft . . . Anyway, I used a pair of red and kraft triangles between the panel to complete the design.
Materials Used:
Rustic Snowflakes and Holiday Tree stamp sets, Aqua Mist and Pure Poppy inks, Aqua Mist cardstock, Aqua Mist satin ribbon (Papertrey Ink); Real Red, Kraft, and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Snowflake embossing folder (QuicKutz); rhinestones (Taylored Expressions)
