Feelin' Blue

I recently participated in an ATC swap with the rest of the Starving Artistamps design team—what a talented group! The swap theme was “your favorite color.” I went with blue and used both the color blue and the emotion blue to design my miniature masterpiece.

I used the mini Dot image from the DoodleFactory set. The image is colored with Copic markers and carefully cut out. Let me tell you, those teeny tiny arms with lots of bends were a challenge! I used some semi-circles to represent a moon. They’re layered for interest and dimension. The top piece has a few holes randomly punched out to look like craters, then is attached to the bottom piece with foam tape.

I stamped the set’s “wish you were here” sentiment in navy ink on the blue background panel. A single star brad is added as an accent.

The rest of the team’s ATCs will be posted on the Starving Artistamps gallery, so be sure to keep an eye out for them.

Materials Used:
DoodleFactory Final Frontier stamp set (Starving Artistamps); white cardstock (Gina K Designs); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers, Lipstick Spica glitter pen (Copic); Night of Navy Classic ink, Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, and Crushed Curry cardstock, ¼” and ½” circle punches (Stampin’ Up!); circle die (Nestabilities); star brad (Making Memories); foam tape
