It'll Be Okay
This little cutie from the Pure Innocence line from My Favorite Things pretty much sums up my feelings over the past 6 weeks or so. I’ve felt like it’s rained on me pretty much non stop and I’ve definitely needed reminding that things will be okay in the end. I used the image for Mercy’s latest sketch challenge.
Instead of coloring the entire image, I paper pieced the raincoat and umbrella in designer paper, leaving just her hands, face, legs, boots, and umbrella handle to be colored with Copic markers. I added a pale blue puddle of water underneath her feet, too.
I used the same paper as I used for the coat for the panel across the cardfront. I matted the panel on a strip of Kiwi Kiss cardstock punched with a decorative edge punch with a pattern that reminded me of the shape of the bottom of the umbrella. The cardfront is covered with the opposite side of the patterned paper for a nice coordinating look. I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink on a Soft Sky panel and attached it to the open space on the image panel.
Here's to seeing lots of sunny days ahead!
Materials Used:
My Umbrella stamp set (My Favorite Things); white cardstock (Gina K Designs); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Bermuda Bay Classic ink, Kiwi Kiss and Soft Sky cardstock, word window punch (Stampin’ Up!); designer paper (October Afternoon-Ducks in a Row line); Crown border punch (Martha Stewart)
