Whoo Loves You?

It's Saturday and that brings us to a new sketch challenge from Paper Craft Planet. This week’s sketch comes from my PCP and i {heart} papers DT buddy Lynn. I am so looking forward to seeing her again soon at CHA!

I think my large panel on the cardfront might be just a bit bigger than what the sketch intended, but I like how it worked out. Instead of stamping a panel, I used some fun kraft paper with an owl pattern from Jillibean Soup. The owls are stitched on to a dark brown panel—yes, I managed to fix my sewing machine (a good thing, because yesterday morning I discovered a leak in the ceiling in one of my upstairs bedrooms, probably coming from the roof—when will the black cloud over my head disappear? Sigh . . .). I tried this first with a curved edge panel but I’m nowhere near masterful enough to zig zag stitch around curves, so that panel ended up in the trash and I decided to stick with regular, straight edges and moved on.

I paired the owls with a sentiment from the Hero Arts Whoo Loves You stamp set. It’s stamped in brown ink on a green panel to match the card base. For a little contrast, I layered the sentiment on a melon panel, then placed it on the card. A piece of knotted brown faux suede ribbon is
attached to the end of the panel.

If you have a chance to play along, upload your card to the PCP gallery with the keyword sk010910 so that it can be added to the album with the rest of this week’s creations.
