Plum Krafty Thanks
Here’s my card for the final Viva la Verve challenge for February. This month’s inspiration room is the dining room. My card is inspired by a photo of a pretty linen napkin set on an eggplant colored dinner plate.
I used a lot of kraft cardstock to mirror the inspiration piece’s mostly natural kraft color. I stamped a circle with the frame from Verve’s Thankful Accents set and used that as the focal image. One of the thank you sentiments from Celebration of Thanks is stamped inside the frame using plum ink. I layered the panel on vanilla cardstock to match the color of the flower image on the napkin.
The rest of the card is pretty simple, keeping with the clean and simple look of the inspiration piece. I used one of the images from Bountiful Backgrounds to add some interest to the plum panel that runs across the card. I distressed the edges a bit to add texture, inspired by the look of the napkin’s edges. A piece of cream satin ribbon is tied around the panel and a trio of pearls sits just below the ribbon. I used a strip of softer plum patterned paper along the length of the card. Everything is arranged directly on the kraft card base. I probably wouldn't have combined the purple shades with kraft on my own, but I really like how they look together.
Materials Used:
Thankful Accents, Celebration of Thanks, and Bountiful Backgrounds stamp sets (Verve Stamps); Plum Pudding and Snow White inks, Plum Pudding cardstock, Pretty Pastels patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); Kraft and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); cream satin ribbon (Target); self adhesive pearls (Queen & Co.); circle dies (Nestabilities)
