Blogger Challenge: Week 142/Friends with Flair
This week’s blogger challenge theme is birthday. And, while we’re on the subject of birthdays, happy birthday to our fabulous challenge coordinator, Lisa! I used It's Your Day, a fun birthday set from Unity Stamp Co., for my challenge card.
I went very clean and simple on this one. I stamped the cake image in black ink on a white panel and colored it with Copic markers. The candle flames are highlighted with some Yellow Stickles for extra sparkle. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the “celebrate” image straight along the side of the cake.
The image is set on an aqua card base along with a strip of striped paper from SEI’s new Happy Day line. Love this birthday themed collection! I finished the card with a pink herringbone twill button-embellished bow. I don’t have any of the adorable custom-made matching buttons from i {heart} papers, or I would have used one of those here instead.
For more birthday ideas, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right. And, check out the list of Unity’s Friends with Flair players on the Unity blog for more Unity inspiration.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Unity Stamp Co. It’s Your Day stamp set, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Copic markers (BG11, BG13, R0000, R81, R83, R85, Y15, Y17); Ranger Yellow Stickles, SEI Happy Day designer paper, Alexx Kesh pink herringbone twill
other: Aqua Mist cardstock, Aqua Mist button, twine (Papertrey Ink); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions)
