Spring Fling Trio

I'm still recovering from a cold, so I spent a lazy Saturday mostly at home. In between napping, cleaning, and watching a movie, I got to 3 of the Spring Fling challenges from Verve's latest release.

Here's card #1 for the challenge to make a clean and simple card (right up my alley!) with a flower. I made a simple square monochromatic card in shades of plum. I started by stamping one of the flower images from the Believe set randomly on a pale plum background in plum ink for a nice contrast. The centers of the flowers are dotted with just a teeny, tiny bit of pink Liquid Pearls. Against the purple, it doesn't really look pink, so it works!

I added a plum strip partway across the card. A piece of plum ribbon is knotted around it and a line of faux stitching runs across the bottom. I stamped one of the sentiments from Thankful Hearts in plum on a pale plum circle, layered it on a white circle, then attached it to the card with foam tape.

Materials Used:
Believe and Thankful Hearts stamp sets (Verve Stamps); Plum Pudding ink, Plum Pudding and Lavender Moon cardstock, Plum Pudding grosgrain ribbon (Papertrey Ink); circle punches (EK Success); Petal Pink Liquid Pearls, Inkssentials white pen (Ranger); foam tape

Now, on to card #2. This one was made for the sketch challenge. I created a sweet baby card with one of Verve's Plain Jane images as the focal point. The image is stamped in a bold blue on a soft blue panel.

I paired the sentiment with some older designer papers from a Prima collection with a blue and yellow color scheme and an embossed star panel. Once I had the papers picked out, this one came together pretty quickly.

Materials Used:
Little Star stamp (Verve Stamps); Enchanted Evening ink (Papertrey Ink); Bashful Blue, Crushed Curry, and Not Quite Navy cardstock (Stampin' Up!); designer paper (Prima-Baby
Boutique collection); circle dies (Nestabilities); Stars embossing folder (Cuttlebug); blue grosgrain ribbon (Morex)

And, here's the final card. This one is for a color challenge using chocolate, green, and yellow. I used the pretty flower from Verve's Love's Flower set for the focal image--and managed to get all 3 challenge colors on the image. I stamped and colored the flower twice so I could cut it apart to layer it with foam tape for some dimension. A yellow pearl accents the flower's center.

I used a piece of SU!'s Thoroughly Modern designer paper for the panel on the cardfront. I attached a piece of Kiwi Kiss cardstock along the bottom of the designer paper. Some elegant pleated satin ribbon is stitched along the bottom edge of the kiwi strip to add a little texture. The script "thanks" sentiment, enclosed as a thank you in one of my past Verve orders, is stamped on the kiwi strip in brown ink.

Materials Used:
Love's Flower stamp set (Verve Stamps); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Soft Suede Classic ink, Kiwi Kiss cardstock, Thoroughly Modern designer series paper (Stampin' Up!); Lemon Tart cardstock (Papertrey Ink); lemon self-adhesive pearl (Kaiser Craft); satin ribbon (Michaels); foam tape; sewing machine
