Blogger Challenge: Week 145

This week's blogger challenge theme is Easter. I don't celebrate Easter, but thought I'd play along to show off this fun basket that's perfect for Easter. The basket template is designed by my friend Adela. It's available in either PDF or in several formats that work with some of the electronic cutting machines. I used the PDF version for this basket and it was a snap to put together--less than 30 minutes from start to finish.

The basket base is made from a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock. For a spring feel, I added some butterfly patterned paper panels on the sides. The insert inside the basket has holes that are the perfect size for holding eggs (mine are fun plastic ones!), but I'd bet there are lots of other things that could fit, too. The handle is another strip of Melon Mambo cardstock. I fancied it up by using a scallop punch along the edges and running a strip of coordinating ribbon down the center. I added a button embellished bow and attached a tag to it. The tag combines two of the sentiments from the Easter Basket set from Clear & Simple Stamps.
