Blogger Challenge: Week 150
This week’s blogger challenge is a theme challenge—Mother’s Day. Since my mom is one of my blog readers, I figured I’d wait to share her card until after I’d given it to her over the weekend. The card I made to share today is already in the mail, on the way to my aunt so it will reach her in time for the holiday.
I combined three different Papertrey Ink stamp sets for the stamped image panel. The leafy branch is from Turning a New Leaf, the flowers are from last year’s anniversary set, Everyday Classics, and the sentiment is from Blooming Button Bits. The images are stamped with PTI inks on a Sweet Blush panel. I used a slot punch to punch a slot in the left side of the panel. A piece of coordinating grosgrain ribbon is threaded through the slot and tied off with a button-embellished piece of twine.
I kept the rest of the layout pretty simple. The stamped panel is layered on a piece of coordinating dotted paper. I ran a scalloped strip along the right side of the card to balance the pop of bright color on the left side. The final detail was dotting on just a bit of Pink Petal Liquid Pearls at the center of each flower for texture and dimension.
For more Mother’s Day projects, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right.
Materials Used:
Turning a New Leaf, Everyday Classics, and Blooming Button Bits stamp sets, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Sweet Blush, and Raspberry Fizz inks, Spring Moss, Sweet Blush, and Raspberry Fizz cardstock, Pretty Pastels patterned paper, Raspberry Fizz grosgrain ribbon, Spring Moss button, twine, medium scallop die (Papertrey Ink); horizontal slot punch (Stampin’ Up!); Pink Petal Liquid Pearls (Ranger)
