I'm also thrilled to be one of this month's guest designers for the weekly clean and simple stamping challenge at SCS. Here's my sample card for this week's challenge, based on a sketch from DT member Kelly Landers. It's a birthday card since I needed a few for the upcoming week. It also fits this week's birthday challenge at a new clean and simple stamping blog (right up my alley), Cas-Tastic Challenges.
Instead of a stamped image, I used SU!'s die cut cupcake for the focal image. To add interest, I crimped the "chocolate" cupcake bottom and dot embossed the "strawberry" top.
The cupcake is attached to a lemon card base with foam tape. A strip of brightly striped October Afternoon designer paper runs across the card. I added a scalloped scallop edge border at the bottom of the patterned paper, covering the seam between the two papers with a lemon satin ribbon strip and bow. One of the sentiments from Papertrey Ink's Fillable Frames #1 set is stamped at the bottom of the card in soft pink ink. Too sweet!
Materials Used:
Fillable Frames #1 stamp set, Sweet Blush ink, Lemon Tart cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Pink Pirouette and Chocolate Chip cardstock, Big Bold Cupcake Sizzlit set (Stampin' Up!); designer paper (October Afternoon-Ducks in a Row line); scalloped scallop die (My Favorite Things); lemon satin ribbon (Michaels); crimper (Fiskars); Swiss Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug); foam tape
I run out of comments for you Lori cos I just love every one of your cards. Hugs xx
