Blogger Challenge: Week 164/Friends with Flair

This week’s blogger challenge theme is birthdays. I went for a masculine look on my card, using a sentiment as the only stamped part.

I stamped the “you’re how old?” sentiment image from Unity’s It’s Your Day kit as my focal image. I stamped the image in brown ink on a kraft panel, then layered it on a Dusty Durango scrap.

The sentiment is layered on a piece of number patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket’s Joy Ride mini deck. I machine-stitched around the patterned paper panel using brown thread and a zig zag stitch to add a little interest and contrast. A piece of brown faux suede ribbon is attached underneath the sentiment to ground it. I added a canvas brad to the end of the ribbon as an accent.

For more birthday themed projects, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right. And, for more Unity inspiration, check out the Friends with Flair list on the Unity blog.
