Hang in There

Here’s my card for this week’s Bellarific Friday from Stamping Bella. This week’s theme is animals. I used the one and only Bella animal stamp I have in my collection, this cute little row of owls on a branch.
The image is stamped in black ink, then colored with Copic markers. I added in a blue sky around the image using my airbrush tool and placed a circle punched yellow moon in the upper corner of the image panel. The owls’ eyes are coated with some Glossy Accents for a glassy, glazed look.
The rest of the layout for the 4 ¼” square card is very simple. I matted the image on yellow and brown panels, then set it on a dark blue card base. I used a lighter blue cardstock scrap for the panel that runs under the image. The panel’s embellished with some paper piercing and a ric rac die cut strip. I wrapped some gold and white twine around it—the narrower width worked better here than ribbon would have—and added the “hang in there” sentiment on a yellow circle.
Materials Used:
Branching Out Owlies image and sentiment (Stamping Bella); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Not Quite Navy, Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight, and Marina Mist cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); ric rac die (Papertrey Ink); circle punch (EK Success); Glossy Accents (Ranger); twine (The Twinery)
