Blogger Challenge: Week 167/Friends with Flair
It's finally Friday--and time for both my blogger challenge group project and Unity's Friends with Flair! This week’s blogger challenge is a sketch. I created a bright, cheerful get well card, sticking pretty closely to the sketch.
I stamped the umbrella image from Unity’s Heart Times kit in black ink on a white panel. I colored the image with Copic markers. The umbrella is stamped a second time, colored, and cut out, then added to the panel with foam tape to add dimension. I accented the hearts on the umbrella with a little orange Spica pen. The raindrops above the umbrella sparkle, courtesy of dots of Crystal Stickles.
I used a strip of Basic Grey’s Sugar Rush designer paper for the panel that runs down the right side of the cardfront. To dress it up, I stitched on piece of yellow velvet trim with a scalloped edge.
I did a little fancy stamping for the sentiment panel. I didn’t want it to cover the image, so I used my stamp positioner to stamp the umbrella handle and the sentiment on the orange strip. It’s accented with a small button, tied with a little bit of yellow and white twine.
For more projects using these colors, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right. And, for more Unity inspiration, check out the Friends with Flair list on the Unity blog.
