Blogger Challenge: Week 172/Friends with Flair
This week’s blogger challenge is a sketch challenge. I combined the sketch with a pair of Unity’s World Card Making Day challenges for this fun card that’s perfect for a little boy.
I used the rocket ship image from Unity’s Sketchy Little Boy Kit for my image panel. The rocket is colored with Copic markers and cut out. I used scraps of yellow glimmer ribbon, frayed at the edges, to make flames shooting from the bottom of the rocket. The rocket’s window is coated with Glossy Accents for a glassy look. I used some foam tape to attach the rocket to a piece of dotted blue paper from October Afternoon’s Seaside line.
I used a coordinating color to mat the image panel, then layered it on a navy panel. I stretched a strip of red faux suede ribbon across the bottom of the panel and stamped the sentiment from the Out of this World Itty Bitty underneath the ribbon in white ink. The panel is set on a striped paper panel from the same paper collection, then on a navy card base. I know it’s kind of busy, but I still like it.
For more projects based on this sketch, you can check out what the rest of the challenge players have created. Links to their blogs are in the sidebar on the right. And, for more Unity inspiration, visit the list of Friends with Flair players on the Unity blog.
