Penguin Fun in the Snow

Here’s my card for this week’s Our Craft Lounge sketch challenge. I used Penguin Fun for my wintery card for week’s sketch.

I colored the snowball throwing penguin image with Copic markers and added a little Diamond Stickles for super-sparkly snow. The image is cut out and added to the pink panel with foam tape. The set’s “let it snow” sentiment is stamped along the top of the panel. Had I been thinking further ahead, I probably would have left more room on the right side of the pink panel so I could have stamped the sentiment at the side of the panel instead of the top . . . I stamped the set’s large snowflake image on a pink panel in white ink to make a subtly patterned strip to run across the top of the card, underneath the image panel.

For the cardfront, I covered a red card base with a panel of patterned paper from Basic Grey’s Eskimo Kisses line. The snowy scene is layered on a big scalloped rectangle and attached to the cardfront. I accented it with a piece of delicate ruffle edged pink ribbon and a bow, made with my Bow Easy.
