Trick or Treat

Here's my card for today's SCS sketch challenge. I combined the sketch with this week's There She Goes recipe challenge (kraft card base, black and white plus a pop of another color, and dry embossing) for this cute Halloween card.

For my image, I used the largest of the ghost trio images from the Hauntingly Delightful set. I stamped the ghost on a scrap of white cardstock and shaded the edges with a pale marker. The pumpkin is colored with orange markers and coated with a Glaze pen for a shiny look. I cut out the colored image and spritzed it with some shimmer spray. After it dried, I attached it to the background panel with foam tape.

I used a pair of patterned papers with black, white (okay, cream . . .) and orange for the panels on my kraft card base. The striped strip is accented with a spider web edge. For the dry embossed element, I embossed a black panel with a spider web pattern then brushed shimmery white ink over it so the raised impression would really stand out. The image panel is layered onto the card with foam tape. the set's "trick or treat" sentiment at the bottom of the card adds one final pop of orange.

Materials Used:
Hauntingly Delightful stamp set (There She Goes); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Brilliance Moonlight White ink, and Frost Shimmer Spritz (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Pumpkin Pie Classic ink, Whisper White, Basic Black, and Crumb Cake cardstock (Stampin' Up!); designer paper (Making Memories--I think . . .); Spider Web embossing folder (Cuttlebug); Spider Web border punch (Martha Stewart); Glaze pen (Sakura); foam tape
