Snow Days Rock
Here's my card for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club challenge to create a winter wonderland scene. I used the Pure Innocence Wyatt--Just Chillin' set for my wintery card. I have to say that I used to agree with the card's "snow days rock" sentiment, but after last winter's snowstorm after snowstorm and shoveling followed by more shoveling, I'm not too wild about snow days anymore. Even though I'm not looking forward to lots of snow this winter, I have to admit that I am looking forward to introducing Chloe the cutie puppy to snow--I think she'll be a big fan of the white stuff!
I started out with a snow patterned paper as the backdrop for my scene. Some torn shimmery white cardstock, layered and glittered along the edges, makes the snowy ground. I stamped Wyatt and the snowman on white cardstock and colored them, then cut them out. I added them to the snowy scene with foam tape. The "snow days rock" sentiment is stamped at the bottom of the scene in blue ink.
The rest of the card is very simple. I used a blue paper with a subtle dotted pattern to cover most of the cardfront. A red strip with a snowflake border punched edge runs across the bottom portion of the card. I layered the image panel over that, then added a pair of layered buttons secured with blue baker's twine as a coordinating accent.
Materials Used:
Pure Innocence--Wyatt Just Chillin' stamp set (My Favorite Things); white cardstock (Couture Cardstock); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Pacific Point Classic ink, Pacific Point, Marina Mist, Riding Hood Red, and Shimmery White cardstock, Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin' Up!); The Winter Combo matstack (DCWV); embossed snowflake border punch (Martha Stewart); snowflake button (Blumenthal Lansing); blue button, blue baker's twine (Papertrey Ink); white flock (Stampendous); foam tape
