Winter Sunshine

Here’s my card for this week’s Our Craft Lounge sketch challenge. I went for a bright, sunny card—quite a contrast from the wintery chill we’ve been stuck in for most of December.

I stamped the sun and cloud images from the Sunshine Cheer set on white cardstock using black ink. The images are colored with Copic markers. I stamped the cloud a second time on a scrap of cardstock, colored it, cut it out, and attached it to the panel with a dimensional dot. I pulled out my airbrush to add a soft blue-green tint to the sky behind the sun and cloud.

Most of the cardfront is covered with a green on green dotted patterned paper from Echo Park’s A Walk in the Park Collection Kit. The edges are machine-stitched to add some interest. The patterned paper piece is layered on a turquoise mat. I ran a strip of turquoise twill across the panels before setting them on a green card base. It’s accented with a trio of clear crystals. The cheery sentiment is set at the bottom of the card on a pair of layered oval panels.
