I Lava You

Here’s my card for this week’s Our Craft Lounge challenge to make a clean and simple card with a heart theme. I started off with OCL’s Lava You set and a heart patterned piece of paper from the Sassafras Lass Count Me In paper pad and worked from there.

I stamped one of the set’s lava lamp images on white cardstock using black ink and added the floating hearts inside. The image is colored with Copic markers, using colors that coordinate with the ones in the patterned paper. The colored image is covered with Glossy Accents for a shiny, liquid-like look.

The rest of the card is very simple. The lava lamp is set on a long pink panel with a scalloped edge. A strip of the patterned paper runs underneath the lamp, accented by a button tied with purple baker’s twine. The colors are a little non-traditional for a Valentine, but I think they still work!
