Bee Mine--Again!

Here’s my card for this week’s Kraftin’ Kimmie challenge to recycle or reuse something on your card. I reused a piece of white twill-like ribbon that had been wrapped around a package I received long ago—so long ago, in fact, that I have no recollection of what the package was. I did set the ribbon aside thinking it would work well on some project some day.

I used the sketch from this week’s Cute Card Thursday challenge for my card. I made Valentine Willard (yes, I'm using Willard again--love him!)the focal image, using just a portion of him on the oval image panel. He’s colored with Copic markers and there’s just a little Stickles added to the bee’s wings.

I used a pair of patterned papers from a K & Company Valentine’s Day collection for the panels on the cardfront. I went with yellow and red—no hearts or girly pinks!--to match the masculine image. Each paper is matted on a coordinating solid cardstock panel, then attached to a kraft panel. The white twill is wrapped around the card. To add more texture, I wrapped some baker’s twine around the twill, then set the “bee mine” sentiment panel over the twine/twill duo using foam tape to secure it. A trio of yellow brads fills in the open space at the upper left corner. Once everything was in place, I set the panel on a yellow card base to finish the design.

Materials Used:
Moonlight Whispers Valentine Willard image (Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade, and Crumb Cake cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); A to KaZoo designer paper (K & Company); oval dies (Spellbinders); circle punches (EK Success); baker’s twine (The Twinery); Crystal Stickles (Ranger); yellow brads; white twill; foam tape
