I Simply Adore You
Here’s my card for this week’s SCS sketch challenge. I combined the sketch with the colors from this week’s Color Throwdown--Not Quite Navy, Pink Pirouette, and Baja Breeze--for this super sweet card.
I used the girl from the Pure Innocence Being Cute Is What I Do set from My Favorite Things as my focal image. She’s colored to match the CTD colors, then cut out. I set her on a polka dot embossed Baja Breeze panel and added a little strip of die cut felt grass to ground her (yes, I know it’s a little outside the challenge colors . . .)
For the sketch’s circular element, I made a paper rose. If you look closely, you can see that it matches the tiny flower on the cutie’s shirt. The paper rose has a self-adhesive pearl at its center and the one on the girl's shirt has a matching dot of Liquid Pearls.
I used several big scraps of patterned paper for the layered fan of panels underneath the image—love when I can do that! The strips are matted on matching patterned paper mats and arranged on the cardfront on a slant. The image panel overlaps them, with the pretty rose covering their bottom edges. Now that I'm done, I'm off to find the misplaced cap to the Liquid Pearls before Chloe the cutie puppy does. If that happens, it's history . . .
Materials Used:
Pure Innocence Being Cute Is What I Do stamp set, Die-Namics grass and rolled rose dies (My Favorite Things); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Pink Pirouette, Not Quite Navy, and Baja Breeze cardstock, Prints DPS (Stampin’ Up!); Simply Chartreuse felt (Papertrey Ink); Polka Dots embossing folder (Sizzix); self-adhesive pearl (Queen & Co.); White Opal Liquid Pearls (Ranger); foam tape
