Keep the Sun in Your Heart
It’s a rainy day here, so it’s the perfect day to share this sunny card. I used this week’s Color Throwdown challenge colors--teal, celery, and summer sun--along with Lawn Fawn’s Partly Cloudy set for this clean and simple design.
I stamped the set’s cloud image repeatedly in white ink on a teal panel using a pigment ink. I stamped one more cloud on a teal scrap and cut it out. I stamped the sun on a Daffodil Delight scrap using Memento Dandelion ink and cut that out, too. After spritzing both the sun and cut out cloud with Sparkle shimmer spray, I added them to the stamped panel, using dimensional dots to attach the cloud. The little smiley face on the sun was an afterthought. I stamped the smile image using the same yellow ink, then added a pair of tiny clear crystals for the eyes to get a little extra sparkle.
I covered the bottom section of a green card base with a green on green dotted panel of paper from Echo Park’s Playground collection, then layered the image panel over it. I stamped one of the set’s sentiments in Bahama Blue ink on a yellow panel. The mix of the yellow and blue gave the ink a much more teal look than if I’d stamped it on a white panel. After setting the sentiment across the cardfront, I added a button, tied with green baker’s twine, as a simple accent.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Lawn Fawn Partly Cloudy stamp set, Tsukineko Memento Dandelion and Bahama Blue inks and Sparkle Shimmer Spritz, Echo Park Playground Collection Kit, Divine Twine Green Apple baker’s twine, Zva Creative dimensional dots and clear crystals
other:
