A Little Birdie Told Me

This week’s Our Craft Lounge challenge is to use twine on your project—baker’s twine or natural twine, it’s all fair game here. I used a bit of cheerful yellow baker’s twine along with one of the birdie images from the Tweet Thang set for my card for the challenge.

I stamped the bird on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers. To add some dimension to the image, I stamped the bird a second time, colored the wing with a contrasting color, cut it out, and attached it to the image with a dimensional dot.

To give the bird a place to rest, I used a grass border punch along the top of a strip of green plaid patterned paper. After wrapping the strip with yellow baker’s twine and securing it with a bow, I attached it to the pale yellow cardfront. The “it’s your birthday” sentiment is stamped on a green strip and slipped underneath the bottom edge of the grass edged strip. I used another dimensional dot to place the bird on the scene, then stamped the “A little birdie told me” sentiment next to it in Pear Tart ink to finish the birthday card.
