What a Blast
I’ve had this sweet little bear set from The Cat’s Pajamas for a while now and I’ve only inked up one of the sentiments (to use in this card here), so I pulled out the bear image for today’s SCS sketch challenge.
I colored the bear with Copic markers and used some coordinating Lily Bee papers to paper piece his pinwheel. I added a tiny button, tied with aqua baker's twine, at the pinwheel’s center, so my card fits for this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge to use buttons, too!
I used the same Lily Bee papers for the panels on the cardfront layered underneath the image. They're machine stitched around the edges for a finished look. I knotted a piece of gold satin ribbon knotted around one of the patterned paper panels and stamped the "what a blast" sentiment just over the knot. After arranging all the panels (there's a lot of layers going on here for this clean and simple stamper!), I attached them to a blue panel embossed with a dotted pattern to tie everything together, then layered the whole pile on a sunny gold cardfront.
Materials Used:
What a Blast stamp set, Aqua Divine Twine (The Cat’s Pajamas); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Baja Breeze, So Saffron, and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin' Up!); This & That 6 x 6 paper pad (Lily Bee Designs); Harvest Gold satin ribbon, Harvest Gold button (Papertrey Ink); Polka Dots embossing folder (QuicKutz); sewing machine; foam tape
