Nutty for You
Here’s my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. I just love the fun images from Paper Smooches and thought the acorn image and matching sentiment would be a perfect fit for this sketch.
I stamped the acorn on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers. The leaves were stamped on a scrap of white, colored, and cut out, then placed over the image with foam tape.
I used the heart patterned paper from Jillibean Soup’s Dutch Mustard line for the color inspiration for this card. I edged the patterned paper panel with kraft strips (one with a fancy edge at the top!) before layering it on a gold panel with dotted embossing. The acorn is attached to a green panel, then layered on the bottom of a kraft panel. I continued the dotted embossing motif on the kraft, this time going with a smaller circle pattern.
I stamped the “nutty for you” sentiment on a ribbon tag die cut and used green baker’s twine to secure it to the cardfront. It's a little fussier than I'd usually do for a sentiment, but I really like how it looks.
Materials Used:
Falling for You stamp set (Paper Smooches); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Crumb Cake cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Spring Moss and Harvest Gold cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Dutch Mustard 6 x 6 paper pad (Jillibean Soup); circle and Ribbon Tags Trio dies (Spellbinders); Apron Lace border punch (Fiskars); Polka Dots embossing folder (Sizzix); Polka Dot embossing folder (QuicKutz); Green Apple baker’s twine (Divine Twine); metal stud embellishments (Michaels); foam tape
