Bee Happy

Here's a quick, cute little card for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. I made my card a square to fit the teeny, tiny images from the Lil' Buddies set that I chose for the sketch's round elements.

I stamped a pair of bee images on white cardstock and colored them in, then cut them out. After coating the wings with glue, I dipped the images in glitter for a fun sparkle. The stripes and eyes on each bee are covered with a black glaze pen for a glossy look--I tried black Enamel Accents first, but the images were too small for the bottle's dispenser tip, even though it's pretty small.

I machine stitched a pair of wiggly "trails" on a light blue panel, then used foam tape to position the bee images on each trail. The set's "bee happy" sentiment is stamped on the left side of the card in darker blue ink. I layered the panel on yellow cardstock for a sunny finish--and to hide the machine stitching on the back . . .

Materials Used:
Lil' Buddies stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Blue Bayou Classic ink, Soft Sky and Daffodil Delight cardstock, Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin' Up!); black Glaze pen (Sakura); sewing machine; foam tape
