Blogger Challenge: Week 214
This week’s blogger challenge theme is embossing. Since it’s something I don’t do too often any more, I decided to give heat embossing a go for the challenge.
I used my new Cameo Maker set from Waltzingmouse Stamps for my card. The frame and silhouette image are both embossed in a cream embossing powder. The powder didn’t heat up to a completely solid image, so it gives the image a sort of vintage look that works nicely with the cameo idea. After cutting out the embossed piece with an oval die, I layered it on another pair of oval dies before setting it on the cardfront.
I used a piece of designer paper with an intricate doily pattern for underneath the cameo. A kraft strip extends from underneath the side of the cameo panel with the “you’re so lovely” sentiment from the You’re Lovely set stamped on it in brown ink. I added a cream satin bow above the cameo and a pair of blush colored pearls to the patterned paper panel as embellishments to complete the design.
