Tag It, Baby

Here's my card for this week's SCS clean and simple challenge to use a tag on your card. The little tag die and coordinating stamp elements in the Notched Tag stamp set from My Favorite Things are perfect for clean and simple cards like this one.

I was going for a sort of elegant look on this baby card, choosing a more vibrant teal blue instead of the more traditional pale sky blue. Half of the blue card base is covered with a blue and cream houndstooth pattern. The right edge of the houndstooth piece is wrapped with a piece of coordinating satin ribbon.

The mini tag is attached to the bow, underneath the button at its center. The die cut tag is stamped with the matching dashed outline image. I die cut a felt bird to place on the tag and stamped the "baby boy" sentiment underneath it in gray ink. A tiny rhinestone placed on the bird as an eye adds just a little sparkly finishing touch.

Materials Used:
Notched Tag stamp set and die (My Favorite Things); Memento London Fog ink (Tsukineko); Seafoam chalk ink (Recollections); Hawaiian Shores cardstock, Hawaiian Shores felt, Hawaiian Shores button (Papertrey Ink); Whisper White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Lush 2 Turquoise Houndstooth designer paper (My Mind's Eye); blue satin ribbon (Michaels); aqua baker's twine (The Twinery); clear crystal (Taylored Expressions)
