Blogger Challenge: Week 215

This week’s blogger challenge is a color challenge using green, purple and brown. I went with a predominantly green color scheme, making the adorable turtle from the Slow & Steady set from Our Craft Lounge my focal image.

The turtle is colored with Copic markers. The balloon trio was stamped on a separate piece of cardstock, colored, cut out, and added to the panel with dimensional dots. After I finished coloring, I went back and stamped the birthday sentiment on the turtle’s shell.

I chose a chevron patterned paper to cover most of the green cardfront. The two other challenge colors make an appearance in the strips that run up and down and across the card. Before attaching them to the card, I machine stitched the strips to add a little interest. A strip of brown twill runs across the card. After setting the image on the cardfront, I added a button, tied with green baker’s twine, over the twill and the image to tie it all together.
