Hang in There

Here's my card for the latest Paper Smooches Sparks challenge. The inspiration photo features this cute onesie. I was inspired by the color scheme, the fun, asymmetrical ruffle along the collar, and the idea of something hanging from a line.

I used the Hang Ups set to create a simple scene. I stamped the longer branch on a light blue panel and colored them with Copic markers. The bird image was colored, cut out, and set on the branch with a dimensional dot. I stamped the set's "hang in there" sentiment in the space just underneath the branch, breaking it up into two parts to fit the space nicely. I added a white felt cloud above the bird and branch to fill in the open space just a little bit.

To incorporate a ruffled element into my project, I used my ScorPal to score an angled strip of green cardstock at 1/2" and 1" intervals, then folded it to get a pleated strip. The strip is attached to the bottom of the scene. I wrapped some green baker's twine around it to help secure it. The scene is matted on a bright pink panel, then set on a white card base.
