Let Your Uniqueness Shine

This week’s Our Craft Lounge challenge is an inspiration one, based on this photo. I took my inspiration from the colorful lineup of fresh crayons and made this simple card using the new Proud as a Peacock set.

I started by cutting a bunch of paper scraps into same-sized pieces and lining them up along the bottom of a white panel. Once they were in place, I stamped the set’s large peacock image in black ink above the paper strips. I used Copic markers to color in the bird and added a scattering of clear crystals to its feathers for some sparkle.

The set’s “let your uniqueness shine” sentiment fit nicely just to the left of the image. After stamping the sentiment, I knotted a piece of black ribbon along the top of the colored strips to visually divide them from the rest of the panel, then set it on a black mat before layering it on a white card base.

You can find all the details about the challenge here on the OCL blog. An OCL set is being offered up as a prize, so you don't want to miss out!

Proud as a Peacock stamp set (Our Craft Lounge); white cardstock (Xerox); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic-B12, B14, B16, YG11, YG13, Y17, Y32, E25, E31, E33); Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Marina Mist, and Basic Black cardstock, Basic Black grosgrain ribbon (Stampin’ Up!); clear crystals (Amuse)
