Most Valuable Player
Here's a different take on Alpha Varsity, this month's Stamp of the Month at Clear and Simple Stamps. I showed off the letters on something I haven't done in a while--a simple scrapbook page.
The page features a photo of one of my co-worker's sons, a talented basketball player, in action in a tournament earlier this year. It makes the perfect focal point for this 8" x 8" page. I went with a masculine navy and orange color scheme with kraft and cream accents.
The photo is matted on a corrugated kraft panel for texture, then layered on the navy background. I added a strip of dotted cream and orange paper, edged with a solid orange strip, along the bottom of the page. I used the Alpha Varsity letters to stamp "Clifton" in navy on a fancy-edged kraft die cut and used my sewing machine to stitch the piece in place.
I made my own embellishments for the page, including a layered star accent made from a combination of corrugated kraft and orange felt and topped with a button, and a fun prize ribbon, too. The ribbon came together quickly with a sentiment from CSS's MVP stamp set, a few layered die cut circles and some orange ribbon scraps.
