Autumn Greetings

I'm playing along with this month's Market Street Stamps Block Party--and just under the wire, too! I used Autumn Greetings, a set from last month's release, for this fall-feeling card.

I stamped the scarecrow in brown ink, then colored the image with Copic markers. After finishing the image, I added some grass (also with markers) and a soft sky with the help of blue ink, a sponge, and a cloud template.

I wanted to get lots of texture on this card, so I turned to fabric and ribbons. I used an Edgeabilities die to cut a scallop edged strip from a piece of denim and set that on a kraft panel that was stamped with the Woodgrain background and inked along the edges with some distress ink. A piece of orange corduroy ribbon covers the somewhat ragged edge of the denim and adds more texture. The ribbon is wrapped with orange baker's twine and secured with a wood button. I matted the image on a blue panel, then set it on the card base, slipping the edges under the twine. The set's "autumn greetings" sentiment just fit underneath the image panel.
